Lettective is a free word game. We keep this simple.

What stays on your device

Your progress, notes and stats are saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can pick up where you left off. This data never leaves your device and we can't see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

What we measure

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits (for example, how many people played today and which country they're in). It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other sites and doesn't identify you personally.

The game also counts, in total, how many cases are started, cracked, left unsolved and shared each day, how many visits and first-time visits there are, which country those plays come from (the country only, never the town or city), and, for first-time visits, what kind of place the visit came from (for example a link we posted on Instagram, or a search engine). Only the running totals are stored: no names, no IP addresses, no cookies and nothing that links a play to you or your device.

What we don't do

No accounts, no sign-up, no email collection.
No advertising trackers.
We never sell data.

Fonts

The game loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch them.
